Vaping regulations in Spain

Do you like to vape and do you know where you can do it with total peace of mind and where it is totally forbidden? At present, there are regulations governing the use of vaping in different public and private places, but there are certain restrictions.

WHERE IS VAPING FORBIDDEN IN SPAIN?

The restrictions stipulated on the regulation of vaping in Spain indicate that the limitations regarding this activity are related to those essences that have a percentage of nicotine, this means that any electronic cigarette that carries within it an essence with nicotine, its use will be completely prohibited in certain public and private areas.

According to Spanish regulations, vaping essences with nicotine percentage (however small it may be), is strictly forbidden in the following places under a fine of 100€ or more depending on the place and the Autonomous Community:

• Training centers where classes are given to underage students. Unless you are vaping outdoors in university centers or centers dedicated to the exclusive education of adults. Provided that they are not on the sidewalks surrounding the education area and the immediate accesses.
•  Government facilities. The legislature prohibits vaping in public order offices.
•  Entities dedicated to public law. As well as, administrative offices, within the centers dedicated to the public right it is not allowed to vape.
• Any center, establishment and service of sanitary use.
• In urban and interurban public transportation. Like cigarettes, smoking is completely forbidden in public transport, as it is necessary to respect the freedom of other people present.
• Railway transport. As in the subway or buses, companies do not allow smoking, much less vaping. However, there are companies that allow these practices in public terraces.
• Maritime and air transport. In these cases, the law varies so you should check what are the laws stipulated by Spanish and foreign travel companies.
• Children’s playgrounds such as parks, which are for the exclusive use of children’s entertainment. It is forbidden in all communities to vape in this type of children’s areas.

WHERE CAN YOU VAPE IN SPAIN?

Taking into account the places where according to the legislature it is strictly forbidden, we can vape in the rest of the places regardless of whether our essence contains nicotine or not, although with some exceptions:

• Indoor or private facilities are required to inform whether or not there is a ban on vaping within the premises. If there is no signage about this activity, you can vape freely and no one can demand that you do not use your NANOVAP..
• Places of entertainment such as bars, nightclubs or restaurants. If they have separate areas for smokers and non-smokers, people who want to use their vape will be considered smokers.
